AZCOOK and Cut the Mustard invite you to join a distinctive culinary and Portuguese learning experience.
In this cooking and Portuguese learning experience you’ll experience the rich flavours of Portuguese cuisine while immersing in the beauty of the language. It's more than just a meal, it's a cultural and linguistic adventure!

On the menu, you’ll savour the delights of three local dishes, which will be the stars of our culinary exploration. But there’s more!
This is a hands-on experience both in the kitchen and with the language. Prepare to enhance your Portuguese skills through the art of cooking, complemented by a carefully curated selection of wines. From kitchen tools to linguistic tools, we'll cover it all.

Get ready for a feast for the senses, where language, cuisine, and culture converge into a memorable experience.

Disclaimer: This is not a Portuguese class; it's a fun and inclusive experience where you get to try the language while preparing three amazing dishes. It's a light and enjoyable afternoon, and everyone is welcome. No Portuguese required!

Carlos Matos

Chef

Carlos Matos graduated from the Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo in Coimbra as a Kitchen and Pastry Technician (2008-2011) and in Kitchen Management and Production (2011-2012). He gained experience in various roles within the profession in conventional restaurants and hotels across Coimbra, Viseu, Guarda, and Évora, eventually becoming a sous-chef at Degust'ar Lisboa and the Sheraton Cascais Hotel.
More recently, he started his own business offering private cooking classes, catering services, and private chef experiences at home. Passionate about culinary education, he sees it as a great opportunity to be part of what he considers an attractive concept and project, AZCOOK.

Sara Correia

Language teacher

Sara Correia, head of Cut the Mustard, is a certified language teacher for over 20 years with a passion for teaching European Portuguese as a foreign language. At Cut the Mustard her mission is to make language learning fun and exciting. The focus is on practical skills and real-world application, ensuring that students truly "cut the mustard" in their language proficiency.
Now collaborating with AZCOOK, crafting unparalleled experiences that blend language immersion with the joy of cooking - creating memories.
